Kamalika meaning
Kamalika (कमलिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
A small lotus
Kamalika (कमलिका) is a diminutive of Sanskrit kamala, the lotus. Monier-Williams records the feminine kamalīkā, "a small lotus", citing Bāṇa's seventh-century prose romance Kādambarī. The base word kamala is one of the commonest Sanskrit words for the lotus, and the related Kamalā is a name of Lakshmi, the goddess who sits on one. Baby-name lists give the same meaning, "little lotus". Kamalika is used mostly in Bengal, where it is said roughly ko-MO-li-ka and is sometimes spelt Komolika.
