Piyali meaning
Piyali (पियाली) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Of the piyal tree (Buchanania latifolia), a nut-bearing tree
Also used to mean: a tree
Piyali (पियाली) is a Bengali girls' name taken from piyāl, the tree known in English as Buchanania latifolia and in much of India as chironji. Monier-Williams records it in Sanskrit as priyāla, noting that it was commonly called piyāl, and the Samsad Bengali dictionary describes it as a nut-tree and its nut or seed; the small seeds are still used in Indian sweets. The tree appears in classical Sanskrit literature and in Bengali poetry of the forest. Name lists give Piyali simply as "a tree".
