Sasmita meaning
Sasmita (सस्मिता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia and Bengali usage).
Accompanied with smiles, smiling
Also used to mean: ever-smiling
Sasmita (सस्मिता) is the feminine of Sanskrit sasmita, made of sa-, "with", and smita, "a smile", so "with a smile". Monier-Williams gives "accompanied with smiles, smiling, laughing", and cites it from Harsha's play Ratnāvalī and Māgha's poem Śiśupālavadha. Name lists give Sasmita as "smiling" or "ever-smiling", which is the dictionary meaning. It is a different name from Sushmita (su-smita, "with a lovely smile"), though the two are close in sense. Sasmita is used mainly in Odisha and Bengal.
