Mangala meaning
Mangala (मंगला) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Auspicious; a faithful wife; a name of Uma (Parvati)
Mangala (मंगला) is the feminine of Sanskrit maṅgala, which Monier-Williams gives as happiness, welfare and bliss, and anything auspicious such as a good omen, a blessing or a festive rite; as an adjective it means auspicious and lucky. The feminine maṅgalā is a faithful wife, turmeric and the sacred dūrvā grass, and a name of the goddess Umā and of Dākṣāyaṇī as worshipped at Gayā. Name lists give auspicious, matching the dictionary. In astrology Maṅgala is also the planet Mars. The name is used in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Odisha.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Parvati.
