Pranjali meaning
Pranjali (प्रांजलि) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Joining the hollowed hands in reverence
Also used to mean: salutation with folded hands
Pranjali (प्रांजलि) is built from añjali, the gesture of cupping or joining the open hands, with the prefix pra-. Monier-Williams gives prāñjali as one who joins and holds out the hollowed hands as a sign of respect and humility, the gesture that accompanies namaste and an offering at a shrine. Name lists give the same sense, "joining one's palms in reverence" or "a salutation with folded hands". It is used in Maharashtra and across North India, and should not be confused with Pranjal, a separate name.
