Daksha meaning
Daksha (दक्षा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
The earth (feminine dakṣā); as adjective, able, clever, expert
Also used to mean: skilled, capable
Daksha (दक्षा) is the feminine of the Sanskrit adjective dakṣa, "able, clever, expert". Monier-Williams gives the feminine noun dakṣā one sense of its own, "the earth", taken from the old lexicographers. The masculine dakṣa is better known: it means ability, skill and strength of will, and it is the name of the Prajāpati Dakṣa, father of Satī. The word is a cousin of Latin dexter, "skilful, right-handed". Indian name lists give Daksha as "skilled" or "capable", and sometimes "earth", and both are supported by the dictionary. In Gujarat the name is often spelled Daxa.
