Padmavati meaning
Padmavati (पद्मावती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A name of Lakshmi; also of Manasa and many queens
Also used to mean: one who has lotuses, goddess lakshmi
Padmavati (पद्मावती) is padma, "lotus", with the suffix -vatī, "having", so it describes one rich in lotuses. Monier-Williams records it as a name of Lakshmi and of the serpent goddess Manasā, and lists many women who bore it, including the wife of the poet Jayadeva. In South India Padmavati is honoured as a form of Lakshmi and the consort of Venkateswara, with her main shrine at Tiruchanur near Tirupati. The name is also tied to Rani Padmini or Padmavati of Chittor, heroine of Malik Muhammad Jayasi's poem Padmavat (1540), though historians doubt her story.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
