Gulshan meaning
Gulshan (गुलशन) is a Muslim and Hindu unisex name of Persian origin, used for both girls and boys.
A rose garden or flower garden; a delightful spot
Gulshan is the Persian word for a rose garden or flower garden, from gul, 'rose, flower'. Steingass defines it as a rose or flower garden, a bed of roses or flowers, and a delightful spot, and records poetic phrases built on it: gulshan-i quds, 'the garden of holiness', for the highest heaven, and gulshan-i nīlūfarī, 'the lotus-blue garden', for the sky. The word passed into Urdu and Hindi, where it is familiar from poetry and song. As a name it crosses communities and genders in north India: the music producer Gulshan Kumar, founder of T-Series, and the actor Gulshan Grover are well-known male bearers, while many Muslim women also carry it. Baby-name lists give 'garden' or 'flower garden'.
