Gulbadan meaning
Gulbadan (گلبدن) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
Rose-bodied; delicate and graceful, as said of a beloved
Also used to mean: delicate as a rose
Gulbadan (گلبدن) is Persian gul-badan, made from gul, "rose", and badan, "body". Steingass' dictionary explains it as having a body like a rose, a poet's epithet for the beloved, and notes that it was also the name of a kind of silk; Platts adds "delicate, graceful". The best-known bearer is Gulbadan Begum, daughter of the emperor Babur, whose memoir of her brother Humayun, the Humayun-nama, is one of the few histories written by a Mughal woman.
