Banafsha meaning
Banafsha (بنفشہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
The violet; violet colour
Also used to mean: violet flower
Banafsha (بنفشہ) is the Persian word for the violet. Steingass's Persian dictionary gives the flower and the colour, and calls the pansy bunafsha-i farangī, the "foreign violet". The word passed into Urdu with the same meaning, and the dried flower is a familiar ingredient in Unani medicine. Muslim scholars have confirmed that it is a suitable name for a girl because of its pleasant meaning. Name lists give Banafsha simply as "violet". In Iran the same name is spelled Banafsheh.
