Sameen meaning
Sameen (ثمین) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
High-priced, of great value, precious
Also used to mean: valuable
Sameen (ثمین) is the Arabic thamīn, from thaman, "price", said with an s sound in Urdu. Lane's lexicon gives it as high-priced or of great value, though it records one classical critic who held that the word properly means "an eighth" and that a valuable thing should be called muthmin. In Urdu and Persian, thamīn is the ordinary word for precious, as in a precious stone. Name lists give Sameen as "precious" or "valuable", in line with the usual sense. In India it is used mostly for girls.
