Samia meaning
Samia (سامیہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
High, lofty, exalted
Also used to mean: elevated
Samia (سامیہ) is the feminine of Arabic sāmī, from samā, "to be high, to rise", the root that also gives samāʾ, "sky". Lane's lexicon gives sāmin as high or lofty, and notes its feminine plural sawāmī used of women and of camels that hold their heads high. Name lists give Samia as "exalted", "lofty" or "elevated", which fits the dictionary well. The masculine form is Sami. In India the spelling Samiya is also used.
