Minha meaning
Minha (منحہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
A gift, a thing given freely; first, a lent milch-camel
Also used to mean: gift from God
Minha comes from Arabic minḥa, from the root m-n-ḥ, 'to give'. Lane's lexicon explains that its first sense was the loan of a she-camel, ewe or goat, lent so that the borrower could drink her milk for a while and then return her. From there the word came to mean simply a gift, a thing given freely, and Lane records the related mannāḥ, 'one who gives many gifts'. Baby-name lists usually translate Minha as 'gift', and some as 'gift from God'; the dictionary gives the plain sense of a gift, without the religious addition. The name is used for girls by Muslim families in India and Pakistan.
