Durdana meaning
Durdana (دردانہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
A single pearl
Also used to mean: precious pearl
Durdana (دردانہ) is a Persian compound of durr, "pearl", and dāna, "grain, bead", so a single pearl. Steingass's Persian dictionary gives exactly this sense. In Urdu, durdāna is also used of something rare and precious, and families call a beloved only child their durdāna. Name lists give Durdana as "pearl" or "precious pearl", matching the dictionary. The name is used by Muslim families across north India and Pakistan; in Iran it is spelled Dordaneh, and in Uzbekistan Durdona.
