Iman meaning
Iman (ایمان) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Faith, belief, trust (in God)
Iman (ایمان) is Arabic īmān, "faith", from the root ʾ-m-n, which carries ideas of safety and trust, as in amān, "security", and amīn, "trustworthy". Lane's lexicon defines īmān as belief, especially in God and His word and messengers, and as trust or confidence. The Quran speaks of God having made faith beloved to the believers and beautiful in their hearts (49:7). Name lists give Iman as "faith" or "belief". The Somali-born model and businesswoman Iman made the name known worldwide.
