Shahida meaning
Shahida (شاہدہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
A witness; one who tells what she has seen and declares what she knows
Shahida (شاہدہ) is the feminine of Arabic shāhid, from the root sh-h-d, "to be present, to witness". Lane's lexicon defines shāhid as one who tells what he has seen with his own eyes, one who knows and declares what he knows: a witness who gives testimony. The same root gives shahāda, the Muslim declaration of faith, and shahīd, a martyr, who is said to bear witness with his life. Name lists give Shahida as "witness". It is a different word from Shaheeda, the feminine of shahīd. The masculine form is Shahid.
