Shahana meaning
Shahana (شاہانہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin.
Royal; splendid, magnificent; in a kingly manner
Also used to mean: princess
Shahana comes from Persian shāhāna, built on shāh, 'king', with the ending -āna, 'like' or 'befitting'. Steingass defines it as royal, splendid and magnificent, and as an adverb, royally; he also notes that shāhāna was the name of a dress worn by a bridegroom, and lists a shorter form, shahāna, 'royal, kingly'. Baby-name lists give 'royal' or 'princess', which fits the dictionary closely. Shahana is also the name of a raga in Hindustani classical music, Shahana Kanada, one of the Kanada family. The name is used for girls by Muslim families in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
