Farhat meaning
Farhat (فرحت) is a Muslim unisex name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage), used for both girls and boys.
Delight, pleasure, cheerfulness, joy
Also used to mean: happiness
Farhat (فرحت) is the Urdu and Persian form of Arabic farḥa, from the root f-r-ḥ, "to be glad". Steingass defines farḥat as delight, pleasure, cheerfulness and joy, and gives compounds such as farḥat-afzāy, "increasing delight". Lane's lexicon explains the root noun faraḥ as joy or gladness, the opposite of sorrow, and quotes the view that it is a passing delight, while surūr is a delight that brings calm. Name lists give "happiness" or "joy", matching the dictionaries. In India and Pakistan the name is given to boys and girls alike.
