Farman meaning
Farman (فرمان) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin.
A mandate, command, order; a royal patent
Also used to mean: decree
Farman (فرمان) is the Persian farmān, which Steingass's dictionary defines as a mandate, command or order, and especially a royal patent; he compares it with Sanskrit pramāṇa. In Mughal India a farman was a formal decree issued in the emperor's name, and the word survives in Urdu and Hindi as farmān, "an order". Name lists give "command" or "decree", matching the dictionary. The longer form Farmanullah, "God's command", is also used as a name.
