Farhan meaning
Farhan (فرحان) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Rejoicing, joyful, glad, happy
Farhan (فرحان) is an Arabic adjective from the root f-r-ḥ, "to rejoice". Lane defines the verb as being joyful, glad or happy, and gives faraḥ as joy, mirth or gladness; the adjective describes someone rejoicing or glad. The Quran uses the related plural fariḥīn for those who rejoice in what God has given them (3:170). Lane also notes that the verb could mean exulting beyond measure, so in the classical language joy could tip into self-satisfaction, but the name keeps the warm sense. Name lists give Farhan as "happy" or "joyful", matching the dictionary. The girls' name Farah comes from the same root. A well-known bearer is the actor and director Farhan Akhtar.
