Ghufran meaning
Ghufran (غفران) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Forgiveness; God's pardon and protection from punishment
Ghufran (غفران) is Arabic ghufrān, "forgiveness", a verbal noun of ghafara. Lane's lexicon gives the verb's first meaning as covering or veiling something, and explains that when God forgives, He covers the sin and shields the person from its punishment. The word is best known from the prayer at the end of Surah al-Baqarah, ghufrānaka rabbanā, "Your forgiveness, our Lord" (2:285). Name lists give the meaning simply as "forgiveness" or "pardon", which matches the dictionary. In India it is used mostly for boys.
