Fuzail meaning
Fuzail (فضیل) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Name of an early saint; diminutive of faḍl, excellence
Also used to mean: excellent, virtuous
Fuzail (فضیل) is the South Asian pronunciation of Arabic Fuḍayl, a diminutive formed from faḍl, "excellence, grace". Steingass's dictionary lists fuẓail as the name of a celebrated saint, next to faẓīl, "excellent, eminent, admirable", and Lane gives faḍīl as equivalent to fāḍil, excelling. The saint is Fuḍayl ibn ʿIyāḍ (d. 803), a man from Khurasan who, by tradition, turned from highway robbery to a life of devotion and died in Mecca. Name lists give "excellent" or "virtuous", which fit the root. In India the name is also spelled Fuzayl and Fudail.
