Shariq meaning
Shariq (شارق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
The rising sun; also the eastern side of a hill
Also used to mean: shining, bright
Shariq (شارق) is the Arabic shāriq, from sharaqa, "to rise", said of the sun. Lane's lexicon explains the verb as the sun rising and beginning to shed its light on the earth, and under sharq records shāriq among the words for the rising sun, quoting the saying "I will not come to you as long as a sun rises"; shāriq can also mean the eastern side of a hill. Name lists give "shining", "bright" or "rising sun", all within these senses. The same root gives mashriq, "the east".
