Firdaus meaning
Firdaus (فردوس) is a Muslim unisex name of Arabic origin, used for both girls and boys.
A garden, especially a rich garden with vines; Paradise
Firdaus (فردوس) is the Arabic firdaws, the word for paradise. Lane's lexicon defines it as a garden, especially an ample, beautiful garden containing everything that gardens contain, with grapevines and palms; the scholars it quotes disagree on whether the word is native Arabic or borrowed from Greek. In the Quran, as in 18:107, al-Firdaws is the garden of Paradise promised to those who believe and do good. Steingass gives the Persian sense as a garden, a vineyard or paradise. Name lists give "paradise" or "garden". In India the name is used for boys and girls, often spelled Firdous.
