Akbar meaning
Akbar (اکبر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Greater, greatest; older, eldest
Akbar (اکبر) is the Arabic akbar, the comparative and superlative of kabīr, "great". Lane's lexicon gives it as greater or greatest in body, rank or age, and so also "older, eldest". In the phrase Allāhu akbar Lane explains it as "God is greater" than every other great being. The Quran says that "the remembrance of God is greatest" (29:45). The name is best known in India through the Mughal emperor Akbar (reigned 1556–1605), and through the Urdu satirist Akbar Allahabadi.
