Umair meaning
Umair (عمیر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A diminutive from ʿumr, 'life'; hence 'little life' or 'long-lived'
Also used to mean: flourishing
Umair (عمیر) is the classical Arabic name ʿUmayr, a diminutive formed, like Ubaid, on a familiar root: here ʿ-m-r, the root of ʿUmar and ʿAmr. Lane's lexicon gives ʿumr and ʿamr as life, the span during which the body is inhabited by life, and the verb ʿamira as to live long. Name lists accordingly give "long-lived" or "life", and a fatwa answering parents' worries notes that the diminutive does not mean a short life. Several early Muslims bore the name.
