Haleem meaning
Haleem (حلیم) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Forbearing, clement, gentle; slow to anger
Also used to mean: patient
Haleem (حلیم) is Arabic ḥalīm, from the root ḥ-l-m. Lane's lexicon defines it as forbearing and clement, a person with ḥilm: patience under provocation, self-control in anger and no haste in judging. As al-Ḥalīm it is one of God's names, explained as the One whose anger is not stirred by the disobedience of His creatures. The Quran praises the prophet Ibrahim as ḥalīm (11:75). Name lists give "gentle", "patient" or "mild", which matches the dictionary well. Indian families use Haleem alone and in Abdul Haleem.
