Fayyaz meaning
Fayyaz (فیاض) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Overflowing; bountiful, munificent, generous
Fayyaz (فیاض) is Arabic fayyāḍ, an intensive form from the root f-y-ḍ, "to overflow". Lane's lexicon applies it to a river that holds much water or flows abundantly, and, of a man, to one who is bountiful and munificent. Steingass gives the Persian and Urdu sense as overflowing, liberal, generous, charitable and bountiful, and notes fayyāẓ-i muṭlaq, God as the bounteous giver of all good. Name lists give "generous" or "bountiful", matching the dictionaries. The singer Ustad Faiyaz Khan of the Agra gharana, honoured as Aftab-e-Mausiqi, "Sun of Music", carried the name.
