Alauddin meaning
Alauddin (علاؤالدین) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Nobility, eminence of the faith
Also used to mean: nobility of the faith
Alauddin (علاؤالدین) is the Arabic ʿAlāʾ al-Dīn, one of the many names built on al-Dīn, "of the faith". Lane's lexicon defines ʿalāʾ as elevated rank, eminence or nobility, from the root ʿ-l-w, "to be high", which also gives the name Ali; dīn is faith or religion. Like other al-Dīn names it began as an honorific title. In India it is borne by Alauddin Khalji, Sultan of Delhi from 1296 to 1316, and by Ustad Allauddin Khan, the great teacher of the Maihar gharana. The same name reached English as Aladdin.
