Alankrit meaning
Alankrit (अलंकृत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Adorned, decorated
Alankrit (अलंकृत) is Sanskrit alaṃkṛta, the past participle of alaṃ-kṛ, "to adorn", literally "to make fit". Monier-Williams gives adorned or decorated, citing the Śatapatha Brāhmaṇa. The same verb gives alaṃkāra, "ornament", the source of the name Alankar, and in Hindi alankrit is also used of someone honoured with an award. Baby-name lists give the name as "adorned" or "decorated", matching the dictionary. Alankrita is the girls' form.
