Sharath meaning
Sharath (शरत्) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Kannada and Telugu usage).
Autumn, the season after the rains; a year
Sharath (ಶರತ್, శరత్) is Sanskrit śarad, autumn. Monier-Williams describes it as the time of ripening, the two months after the rains, and notes that in poetry śarad can also mean a year, as in the blessing "may you see a hundred autumns". In Indian poetry autumn is the season of clear skies, bright moonlight and lotus-filled lakes, and the full moon of the season, Sharad Purnima, is celebrated across India. The spelling Sharath or Sarath, with a final -th, is typical of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala; northern families write Sharad. A well-known bearer is the table-tennis player Sharath Kamal.
