Padmakar meaning
Padmakar (पद्माकर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A lotus-pool, an assemblage of lotuses
Also used to mean: lotus pond, lord vishnu
Padmakar (पद्माकर) is the Sanskrit padmākara, from padma, "lotus", and ākara, "mine, abundance". Monier-Williams gives it as "a lotus-pool" or "an assemblage of lotuses", a picture used in Bhartṛhari's verses and the Kathāsaritsāgara. It is a close twin of Kamalakar, which has the same meaning. Some name lists link Padmakar to Vishnu, whose emblem is the lotus, though that is not a dictionary sense. Bearers include the Braj poet Padmakar of the Rītikāl era and the Mumbai left-arm spinner Padmakar Shivalkar.
