Shashwat meaning
Shashwat (शाश्वत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Eternal, constant, perpetual; a name of Śiva and of Vyāsa
Shashwat (शाश्वत) is Sanskrit śāśvata, from śaśvat, "perpetual, ever-recurring". Monier-Williams gives eternal, constant and perpetual, and in set phrases "for evermore"; as a masculine name it belongs to Śiva and to Vyāsa, the feminine śāśvatī is the earth, and the neuter means continuity, eternity and heaven. The Bhagavad Gītā (2.20) calls the self śāśvata, eternal, in describing what does not die with the body. Name lists give Shashwat as "eternal" or "constant", matching the dictionary.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
