Shailesh meaning
Shailesh (शैलेश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Lord of mountains; a name of the Himālaya
Also used to mean: lord of the mountains
Shailesh (शैलेश) joins Sanskrit śaila, "mountain", and īśa, "lord". Monier-Williams gives it as lord of mountains and as a name of the Himālaya, the same sense as the longer Shailendra. In myth the Himālaya is personified as Himavat, father of the goddess Pārvatī, so the name also recalls her family, and some lists link it to Shiva of Mount Kailāsa. Name lists give Shailesh as "lord of the mountains", matching the dictionary.
