Tarang meaning
Tarang (तरंग) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A wave, billow; a to-and-fro motion
Tarang (तरंग) is the Sanskrit taraṃga, "a wave" or "a billow". Monier-Williams explains the word as "across-goer", the thing that travels across the water, and also records it for a jumping or to-and-fro movement. Because Sanskrit authors liked to call their books "oceans" or "rivers", taraṃga was also used for a chapter, as in the Kathāsaritsāgara, "ocean of the streams of story", whose sections are called taraṃgas. Name lists give Tarang as "wave", the dictionary sense. In Hindi and most Indian languages tarang still means a wave, including waves of sound or feeling.
