Vandan meaning
Vandan (वंदन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati usage).
Praise; reverence, salutation, worship
Vandan (वंदन, Gujarati વંદન) is the Sanskrit word vandana, from the verb vand, "to praise, to greet with reverence". Monier-Williams gives it as the act of praising, and as reverence, especially bowing before an elder or teacher, worship and adoration. In the Rigveda, Vandana is also the name of a sage whom the Aśvins rescued from a well. In Gujarati, vandan is still the everyday word for a respectful greeting. Name lists give the same meaning, salutation and praise. The girls' name Vandana comes from the same root.
