Vrund (वृंद, Gujarati વૃંદ) is the masculine of Sanskrit vṛnda. Monier-Williams gives it as a multitude, host or swarm, a bunch or cluster of flowers or berries, and a chorus of singers and musicians; in Gujarati and Hindi, vṛnd still means a group or ensemble. Name lists usually give Vrund as "tulsi" or "Radha". Those are senses of the feminine vṛndā, the holy basil and a name of Radha, which is the source of the girls' name Vrinda. The boys' name borrows that association, but the masculine word itself means a gathering or cluster.
