Hemal meaning
Hemal (हेमल) is a Hindu unisex name of Sanskrit root origin (Gujarati usage), used for both girls and boys. By its first sound, हे, it is a Kark rashi name (Pushya nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
From heman, gold
Also used to mean: golden
Hemal (હેમલ) is a Gujarati name built on Sanskrit heman, "gold", the same root as in Hema, Hemant and Hemangi. Monier-Williams defines heman as gold, a gold piece and, in the plural, golden ornaments. Name lists today give Hemal as "golden". Sanskrit also has a word hemala, which the dictionary gives as a goldsmith, a touchstone for testing gold, or a lizard; it shares the gold root, but the modern name more likely follows the Gujarati -al pattern seen in Hetal and Hiral. Hemal is used for both boys and girls.
