Jash meaning
Jash (जश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati usage).
Fame, renown, glory (Hindi jas, from Sanskrit yaśas)
Jash (जश) is the Gujarati form of the word that appears in Sanskrit as yaśas and in Hindi as jas. Monier-Williams gives yaśas as beauty, splendour, glory, fame and renown, and Platts' Hindustani dictionary records Hindi jas, from the Sanskrit, as celebrity, fame and renown, and also as reputation, virtue and merit. The same Sanskrit word gives the name Yash, so Jash is in effect its Gujarati twin. Name lists give "fame" and "glory", in line with the dictionaries. The name is used mainly by Gujarati families.
