Ranchhod meaning
Ranchhod (रणछोड़) is a Hindu boy's name of Gujarati origin (from Sanskrit raṇa).
A name of Krishna: he who left the battlefield
Ranchhod (रणछोड़, Gujarati રણછોડ) is a name of Krishna in Gujarat. It joins raṇa, "battle", and chhoḍ, "leaving", and the Gujarati dictionary explains it as Krishna who left the battlefield during the war with Jarāsandha and went to Dwarka. Far from being a slight, the story is told as wise restraint: Krishna withdrew to protect the Yadavas, and Dwarka became his kingdom. As Ranchhodrai he is the presiding deity of the temple at Dakor, one of Gujarat's main pilgrimage centres. Longer forms include Ranchhodlal and Ranchhoddas.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
