Manmohan meaning
Manmohan (मनमोहन) is a Hindu boy's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit manas + mohana).
One who enchants the mind (manas + mohana)
Also used to mean: one who charms the heart, Lord Krishna
Manmohan (मनमोहन) joins man, the Hindi form of Sanskrit manas, "mind", with mohana, "enchanting, bewildering". Monier-Williams gives mohana as infatuating or leading astray, and as a masculine noun a title of Shiva and one of the arrows of the god of love. The compound means "one who enchants the mind", and in Hindi devotional songs it is a loving name for Krishna; the strict Sanskrit form would be manomohana, the source of the Bengali spelling Manomohan. Name lists give "one who charms the heart". Its best-known bearer is Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014.
