Mayukh meaning
Mayukh (मयूख) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
A ray of light, brightness, lustre; also a peg or sundial pin
Also used to mean: brilliance
Mayukh (मयूख) is Sanskrit mayūkha. Monier-Williams gives its first, homely senses as a peg for hanging cloth and the pin, or gnomon, of a sundial, and then a ray of light, a flame, brightness and lustre; it was also the name of a form of the fire god Agni. The link between the senses is the sundial: the pin that catches and throws the sun's rays. Name lists give "ray of light" or "brilliance", which matches the dictionary. The name is used mainly in Bengal, where it is written ময়ূখ.
