Subhajit meaning
Subhajit (शुभजित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Compound of śubha, 'bright, auspicious, good', and jit, 'winning'
Also used to mean: auspicious victor, one who wins in a good way
Subhajit (शुभजित) is a Bengali name made from two Sanskrit words. Śubha means bright, beautiful, auspicious and good in a moral sense, and Monier-Williams also gives it as welfare and good fortune; jit means "winning" or "conquering" at the end of a compound. Together they give "one who wins auspiciously" or "a good victor", which is how name lists explain it. Bengali speakers often say the śubha part as "shubho", so the name is also written Shubhajit or Subhojit. It is used by Hindu families in West Bengal and Odisha.
