Arup meaning
Arup (अरूप) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Formless, shapeless
Arup (अरूप) is Sanskrit arūpa, formed from a-, "without", and rūpa, "form, shape". Monier-Williams gives formless and shapeless, citing the Upaniṣads, where the highest reality is described as beyond all form; in the Rāmāyaṇa the same word can also mean ill-formed, and in Buddhist texts it is used for release or nirvāṇa. As a name it follows the first, spiritual sense, and baby-name lists give it simply as "formless". Arup is a boys' name used in Bengal, Assam and Odisha; the Hindi spelling is Aroop.
