Kandarp meaning
Kandarp (कंदर्प) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati usage).
Kāma, the god of love; love
Kandarp (कंदर्प, Gujarati કંદર્પ) is one of the Sanskrit names of Kāma, the god of love, known from the Mahābhārata and the Bhagavad Gītā. Monier-Williams also lists it as the name of a musical rāga and simply as a word for love. The dictionary calls the origin of the word doubtful; one old explanation divides it as kaṃ-darpa, "one who inflames even a god". Name lists give the same meaning, the god of love. Kandarp is used as a boys' name mainly in Gujarati families, alongside other Kāma names such as Madan and Manoj.
