Milan meaning
Milan (मिलन) is a Hindu and international boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Meeting, coming together, union
Milan (मिलन) is Sanskrit milana, "coming together, meeting, union". Monier-Williams cites it from the Amarakosha and from Jayadeva's Gita Govinda, the love poem of Radha and Krishna, where meeting and separation are its great themes. Platts gives the Hindi word milan as meeting, union, agreement and harmony, and it is still the everyday Hindi word for a reunion or a coming together. Name lists give "meeting" or "union", matching the dictionary. The same spelling is a separate Slavic name and the name of an Italian city, but the Indian name has no link with either.
