Ranganath meaning
Ranganath (रंगनाथ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Raṅga 'stage, arena' + nātha 'lord'; a personal name
Also used to mean: lord vishnu, lord of the stage
Ranganath (रंगनाथ) joins raṅga with nātha, "lord". Monier-Williams gives raṅga as a stage, arena or place of assembly, and also as colour and love, and records raṅganātha as the name of several authors. In worship, Ranganatha is the form of Vishnu reclining on the serpent Śeṣa at the great temple of Śrīraṅgam, on an island in the Kaveri, so the name is a devotional one across the south. Ranganathan is the Tamil form, famous through the librarian S. R. Ranganathan.
