Shlok meaning
Shlok (श्लोक) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A hymn of praise; fame; a stanza, verse
Shlok (श्लोक) is the Sanskrit śloka, which Monier-Williams derives from śru, "to hear". In the Rig Veda its first senses are a sound, such as the noise of carriage wheels, and a call or voice of the gods; from there it comes to mean fame, glory and a hymn of praise. Later śloka is a stanza, above all the anuṣṭubh, the common metre of the epics, with four quarters of eight syllables each. The Rāmāyaṇa playfully links the word with śoka, "sorrow", in its story of how the first verse came to be composed. Name lists give the same meaning, "verse" or "hymn", and Shloka is the usual feminine form.
