Guruprasad meaning
Guruprasad (गुरुप्रसाद) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Kannada and Marathi usage).
The guru's grace or favour (from guru and prasāda)
Also used to mean: grace of the guru, blessing of the teacher
Guruprasad (गुरुप्रसाद) joins Sanskrit guru, "teacher" or "spiritual guide", and prasāda. Monier-Williams gives prasāda first as clearness and purity, then as graciousness, kindness and favour, and also as the food offered to a deity or left by a spiritual teacher, the prasad shared in temples today. Together the name means "the guru's grace", and name lists give it as "grace of the guru" or "blessing of the teacher". The compound is not in the classical dictionaries. It is used mainly in Karnataka and Maharashtra, often written as two words, Guru Prasad.
