Gurmukh meaning
Gurmukh (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ) is a Sikh boy's name of Punjabi origin.
One who faces the Guru; a follower of the Guru's way
Also used to mean: Guru-oriented
Gurmukh (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ) is one of the central words of Sikh teaching. The Mahan Kosh gives it as the face of the Guru and as a person who stands before the Guru and never turns away; the srigranth dictionary describes a devout, virtuous person guided by the Guru. Its opposite is manmukh, one led by their own mind. The word appears from the Japji onward, as gurmukh on Ang 2 of the Guru Granth Sahib. As a name it is given mainly to boys.
